With the establishment of the university in 1970 AD, humanities studies were taught within the curricula of the College of Education, which received its first batch of students in 1970 AD. The number of students enrolled in that year reached (64) male and female students, of which the Arts Division’s share was (12) male and female students. In 1971 AD, A new college was established that includes arts, education, and sciences. In 1973, the College of Arts was established - within the framework of Sana'a University - an independent educational institution that includes five departments: Arabic language, English language, history, geography, and social sciences, and the first class graduated. (Nine students) in the college in 1973/1974. Thus, the college began to develop year after year, noticeably, as the College of Arts opened other specializations, a total of twelve specializations so far. The college was not limited to the first stage of university study (bachelor’s), but rather expanded by opening the stage of postgraduate studies in arts and humanities, and qualifies Whoever successfully passes this stage will obtain a diploma, master’s or doctoral degree.
