Disagreements between between Zaidi and Asha'ir: The discussions of vision, justice, and the creation of the Qur'an in the book 'Umdat Al-Mustarshidin' written by Hamid Al-Mahalli (Date . 652 Higiri): A study and critical edition
This research aims to study and investigate the points of doctrinal disagreement between the Zaydis and the Ash'arites in the book "Umdat Al-Mustarshidin Fundamentals of Religion " by the martyr Hamid
Al-Mahalli (d. 652 AH). The research focuses on pivotal issues presented by Al-Mahalli, namely: the vision of Allah, divine justice (including its relation to human actions, predestination, guidance, and misguidance), and the createdness of Qur'an.
The research employs a critical methodology to verify the selected text from the manuscript and a comparative analytical approach to its study. This involves presenting Al-Mahalli's arguments, which represent Zaydi thought in his era, and comparing them with the Ash'arite arguments he sought to refute. The study reveals the methodological foundations and the textual and rational evidence upon which each group based its position, thus illuminating an important aspect of the history of theological debate in the seventh century.
