Critical readings For poetry in ancient literary criticism

Abstract

The stages of the beginning of literary criticism have varied since ancient times, and the Souk Okaz in the pre-Islamic era had a great impact, and it is one of the environments of literary criticism where poets meet every year.

As a result, critical Arabic criticism makes generalizations about poets’ poems, without explaining or justifying the defect. There is hostility between poets, linguists, grammarians, and critics, to the point that they set requirements for the poets’ column that they do not deviate from.

Arabic poetry has received mature critical, intellectual, and aesthetic studies, and the studies and opinions still contain ambiguous methods in their semantic levels that deserve adventure and the pleasure of interpretation, which prompted me to study (Critical Readings on Poetry in Ancient Literary Criticism), From it, critical opinions with critical dimensions were formed in the ancient Arab heritage, as most ancient sources are almost never without mentioning or referring to it.

The study included an introduction and two sections. In the introduction,

I explained some definitions related to critical readings in general. I made the first section to study the critical opinions of ancient poets, and I dedicated the second section to the critical opinions of the pillar of poetry, then a conclusion in which I explained the most important results that I reached.

Abstract

This research is specialized in the field of financial and business management, specifically in the area of banking. It aims to explore the impact of ethical leadership on job performance in Yemeni commercial banks operating in the Capital Secretariat of Sana'a. The study seeks to identify the level of commitment of administrative leadership in these banks to applying ethical leadership concepts in banking transactions, as well as to assess the level of job performance among employees in these institutions. The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical method and used a questionnaire as the primary research tool. The study population consisted of six Yemeni commercial banks operating in the Capital Secretariat, with a total of 1,487 employees. A sample of 306 participants representing all job levels was selected. Questionnaires were distributed accordingly, and 284 were returned, of which 274 were valid for analysis—representing 89% of the total research sample. Several modern statistical measures were used to perform data analysis, including the internal consistency test for study variables and items, VIF (Variance Inflation Factor), as well as simple, multiple, and stepwise regression analyses to test the effects of independent variables on dependent ones. Additionally, the ANOVA test was applied. The researcher used SPSS and AMOS software to analyze and test the results. The study concluded with several key findings, the most important of which are:
1. Yemeni commercial banks in Sana'a apply ethical leadership to a relatively high degree.
2. Job performance levels were found to be high.
3. There is a statistically significant impact of ethical leadership on job performance in these banks.
The research provided several recommendations based on the findings, the most notable being:
1. A recommendation for bank management to place greater emphasis on implementing ethical codes across all employees and formally communicating these codes to clients.
2. A recommendation to increase efforts in conducting training and qualification programs to improve employee job performance and to reinforce and encourage ethical behavior in all banking tasks.

Abstract

This research aims to measure the effectiveness of a virtual lab program based on an integrated learning strategy for concepts and recreational learning within the Physical Fitness course for medical students in Al Mahwit. The researchers used experimental models in the design, and the research population consisted of all first-year medical students, totaling 120 new students during the second semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. The study was limited to 25 students as a control group, and the program was implemented using an effective learning strategy.For measurement purposes, the program was intensively tested using an observation checklist administered to the participants both before and after the study. The results showed that the effective use of the virtual lab significantly enhanced the students' enjoyment of the recreational experience, as evidenced by the remarkable differences between the pre- and post-tests. Furthermore, statistically significant differences were found in the modern measurements of technical achievement. The findings also demonstrated the significant contribution of virtual work based on the learning strategy and the activation of the flipped learning approach to developing creative skills and achievement. Therefore, based on these results, I rely on the cooperation of the virtual work function as evidence of the learning strategy of integrating the flipped classroom into the teaching and learning processes, due to its positive cooperation, in general, completely, in all intermediate levels and different specializations, while relying on the importance of experience and students to use it through workshops and specialized specializations

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the impact of talent management, with its dimensions (talent attraction, talent development and training, and talent retention), on entrepreneurial strategies in mobile telecommunications companies in Yemen.

The study adopted the descriptive method through the surveying and correlational approaches. The study population consisted of all administrative leaders (general managers and their deputies, department managers and their deputies) in mobile telecommunications companies in Yemen, totaling (135) individuals. Due to the small size of the study population and the possibility of accessing all its members, the comprehensive census method was adopted. Accordingly, the questionnaire was distributed to all members of the study population, and the results were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS V27).

The results showed the existence of a strong impact relationship between talent management, with its dimensions, and entrepreneurial strategies in the surveyed companies. The findings also indicated a moderate level of implementation of talent management practices across its three dimensions, and a high level of implementation of entrepreneurial strategies. In addition, the results revealed that the talent retention dimension represents the strongest and most influential driver of entrepreneurial strategies.

The study recommended strengthening the adoption of talent management as a strategic approach within the surveyed companies, and directly linking its practices to entrepreneurial strategies in a way that contributes to achieving sustainability and competitive advantage. It also recommended raising the level of implementation of talent management practices from a moderate level to a higher level through the development of relevant policies and procedures, and giving top priority to talent retention policies as the most influential dimension in enhancing entrepreneurial strategies.

Abstract

This study examines and critically investigates the book “Muntahā al-Ilmām bi-Aḥādīth al-Aḥkām” by the distinguished scholar and judge Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-Samāwī (d. 1241 AH), focusing on the ḥadīths related to the sutrah (barrier) of the praying person, through authentication and analysis. The research aims to highlight the scholarly value of the book by analyzing al-Samāwī’s methodology in dealing with ḥadīth, identifying his sources, approach to documentation, and method of judgment on narrations. The study begins with a comprehensive biography of Imām al-Samāwī, followed by an examination of his methodology in the book, and presents a practical model through the authentication and analysis of the ḥadīths concerning the sutrah of the praying person.

The researcher adopted the analytical and critical method in studying the ḥadīths, the descriptive method in presenting the author’s biography, and the inductive method in collecting the narrations. The study concludes that Imām al-Samāwī followed a precise methodological approach in ḥadīth classification, combining extensive documentation with scientific criticism, making his book an important reference for both jurists and ḥadīth scholars. The research recommends completing the verification and publication of this eminent scholar’s remaining works.

Abstract

recording as means of proof under Yemeni law, in light of rapid technological development and the emergence of modern methods for proving rights before courts. The study aims to clarify the position of Yemeni legislation regarding these means and to analyze the extent to which they can be relied upon as evidence, while observing legal, constitutional, and Islamic legal safeguards.

The research adopts an analytical approach and is structured into an introduction and two chapters. The first chapter addresses the legal concept of recording and imaging, their types, and the legal basis for their evidentiary value, with reference to the positions of Islamic jurisprudence and positive law on modern means of proof. The second chapter discusses the legal and procedural safeguards governing the admissibility of recording and imaging as evidence, including the legality of obtaining the evidence, its technical integrity, and the discretionary authority of the judge in assessing its probative value.

The study concludes that Yemeni legislation lacks explicit and comprehensive regulation concerning the evidentiary value of audio and video recordings, leading to divergent judicial approaches. It also finds that the admissibility of such evidence is subject to respecting privacy and constitutional rights. The research recommends legislative intervention to regulate digital evidence through clear legal provisions and precise safeguards that balance justice and technological advancement

Abstract

This study analyzed the legal framework for combating money laundering in Yemen to identify guarantees provided. Using content analysis, it examined international conventions and Yemeni legal texts, including laws, executive regulations, and Central Bank decisions. Additionally, a descriptive-analytical method was employed to describe the operational reality of supervisory institutions and the challenges they face. The study reached several results, notably: general conformity between Yemeni legislation and basic international standards, though gaps remain in detailed and practical aspects. Furthermore, there is weak coordination between the supervisory and judicial bodies in Yemen. The Financial Information Unit requires further technical and human support to enhance analytical capabilities. The study highlighted that using financial technology in supervision, alongside strong law enforcement mechanisms, represents beneficial areas for Yemen. The study concluded with recommendations: the Yemeni legislator must amend laws to include new predicate offenses and match evolving money laundering methods. The Central Bank should tighten supervisory measures on financial institutions and effectively develop electronic reporting systems. The Financial Information Unit should enhance analytical capabilities and activate international cooperation for information exchange. Finally, the Yemeni government must establish a comprehensive national strategy for combating money laundering that includes capacity building and necessary resource provision.

Abstract

This research studies and investigates the book "Muntahā al-Ilmām bi-Aḥādīth al-Aḥkām" (The Utmost Comprehension of the Hadiths of Rulings) by the eminent scholar Judge Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-Samāwī (d. 1241 AH), with a focus on the hadiths related to "Ṣadaqat al-Fiṭr" (the charity of breaking the fast), through verification and authentication. The research aims to highlight the scholarly value of the book by analyzing Imam al-Samāwī's methodology in dealing with hadith, identifying his sources, and his methods of authentication and judgment on hadiths. The research begins with a comprehensive biography of Imam al-Samāwī, then moves to a study of his methodology in his book, and provides a practical model by verifying and authenticating the hadiths of Ṣadaqat al-Fiṭr.
The researcher followed the analytical and critical method in studying the hadiths, the descriptive method in presenting the author's biography, and the inductive method in collecting the narrations. The research concluded that Imam al-Samāwī had a precise methodology in hadith classification, combining extensive authentication with scholarly criticism, which makes his book an important reference for both the jurist and the hadith scholar. The research recommends the necessity of completing the investigation of the heritage of this venerable scholar.

Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the role of strategic entrepreneurship, with its dimensions (entrepreneurial culture, entrepreneurial leadership, entrepreneurial thinking, strategic management, and resources and capabilities), in achieving competitive advantage, with its dimensions (efficiency, quality, flexibility, creativity/innovation, and customer responsiveness). It also aimed to identify the level of strategic entrepreneurship practice and the level of competitive advantage achievement in Yemeni telecommunication companies in the Capital Secretariat (Sana'a).

The study adopted the descriptive analytical approach and used a questionnaire as a tool for collecting the required data. The study population included all 4034 employees in five Yemeni telecommunication companies in the Capital Secretariat (Sana'a): Sabafon, YOU, Yemen Mobile, TeleYemen, and the Public Telecommunication Corporation (PTC). Participants in the study sample were selected using the stratified random sampling method. A total of 450 questionnaires were distributed to the participants, and 384 were retrieved, including eight questionnaires unsuitable for analysis, 376 questionnaires were analyzed, representing a response rate of 84%.

The study concluded that the level of strategic entrepreneurship practice was relatively high, as was the level of competitive advantage achievement. Furthermore, it was revealed that there is a statistically significant role for strategic entrepreneurship in achieving competitive advantage in Yemeni telecommunication companies in the Capital Secretariat (Sana'a).

The study recommends that these companies institutionalize strategic entrepreneurship by adopting innovative practices and enhancing the efficiency of resource investment. Such measures are vital for fostering competitiveness and improving the firms' capacity to adapt to evolving environmental demands.

Abstract

This study aimed to measure the impact of innovative marketing, with its various dimensions (product innovation, price innovation, distribution innovation, and promotion innovation), on the decision-making process for purchasing cosmetics among female students at Sana'a University. To achieve the study's objectives, a descriptive-analytical approach was used, and a questionnaire was employed as the data collection tool. A random sample of 300 female students from Sana'a University was selected using a questionnaire designed and distributed electronically. The study concluded with a number of key findings, the most important of which are::

The level of innovative marketing (product innovation, pricing innovation, distribution innovation, and promotion innovation) was high, as was the level of purchasing decision-making among Sana'a University students. The results also showed a statistically significant impact of the dimensions of innovative marketing (product innovation, distribution innovation, and promotion innovation) on the purchasing decision of Sana'a University students. However, the pricing innovation dimension did not show a statistically significant impact on the purchasing decision of Sana'a University students.

Exploring Digital Technology Integration in Language Learning: Insights from User Experiences and Challenges

Abstract

This study employs a descriptive statistics approach to investigating the integration of educational technology into language learning, focusing specifically on frequently used learning tools, learners' perceptions of their effectiveness, and associated challenges. A questionnaire was designed and administered to a randomly selected sample of 75 third-level students enrolled at the English Department in the Faculty of Language in Sana'a University. Results indicated that mobile applications and online dictionaries are the most widely used learning tools, with over 50% of participants rating them as highly effective. While perceiving online courses and virtual classrooms as effective to some extent, learners reported technical issues and limited peer interaction as significant obstacles. Qualitative insights were obtained through open-ended questions within the survey, highlighting learners' awareness of the usefulness of AI-supported learning tools in providing personalized feedback and interactive practice; however, concerns regarding distraction and information overload were also noted. Based on these findings, the study offers some insights that can, hopefully, benefit educators, policymakers, and educational institutions aiming to enhance language learning by integrating technology into their curricula and by addressing learner-specific challenges.

Abstract

Television has long been considered one of the most influential mass media in shaping collective awareness and disseminating knowledge across generations. However, rapid technological advancements and the rise of the Internet and digital platforms have significantly transformed viewing habits, shifting audiences from traditional linear broadcasting to interactive, on-demand consumption. This study aimed to examine the impact of modern communication technologies on the viewing habits and patterns of the Yemeni audience toward satellite television channels, and to identify the factors influencing this transformation in comparison with previous findings in the Yemeni context.The results indicated a noticeable decline in satellite television viewership, with 44.8% of respondents reporting occasional exposure and only 17.2% indicating regular viewing. In contrast, nearly half of the sample reported consistent consumption of television content via the Internet. Additionally, 58.1% spend less than one hour per day watching satellite channels, while time spent on digital platforms is comparatively higher.
The findings also revealed that smartphones are the primary device for accessing content, with news and drama programs ranking among the most preferred genres. Utilitarian and cognitive motives were the main drivers of viewing. The study concluded that a statistically significant inverse relationship exists between satellite television viewing and digital platform consumption, with clear age differences in viewing preferences.
