The Role of Al-Rabi’ bin Ziyad Al-Harithi in the Conquest of Eastern Islamic Territories
Abstract
Al-Rabi’ bin Ziyad Al-Harithi belongs to the Al-Harith bin Ka’b tribe, which was famous for the courage of its men and knights and their courage in wars and fighting in battles. Therefore, Al-Rabi’ lived his first days in an environment that strengthened his lofty advantages, and inherited the virtues of nomadism from his tribe and his family. He grew up in Najran, where nomadism met civilization. Al-Rabi’’s gifted nature was mixed with the acquired knowledge. This combination created the rare personality of Al-Rabi bin Ziyad Al-Harithi in terms of his human and leadership qualities.
The time of Al-Rabi’ bin Ziyad Al-Harithi’s conversion to Islam is not known, but he had companions, and he led a Muslim army during the reign of Omar bin Al-Khattab (peace be upon him). During this reign, only the prophet’s companions were assigned high official positions. However, nothing was known about his jihad under the banner of the Prophet, Muhammed. Therefore, Al-Rabi’ had the honor of the companionship, but he did not attain the honor of jihad in the battles of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Al-Rabi’ bin Ziyad Al-Harithi was known for his forbearance and humility when he was a prince, and his self-confidence when he was not. He was famous for his courage and strength of character, for adhering to the Holy Koran and prioritizing it over everything else, and for not submitting to anyone who contradicted it in its verses and rulings. Al-Rabi’ was also characterized by intelligence, acumen, wisdom, sound judgment, and concern for the interests of Muslims. The military competence of Al-Rabi bin Ziyad Al-Harithi was evident in the Islamic conquests. He was the conqueror of Beiruth and Manadher from Al-Ahwaz, Kerman, the Country of Al-Dawar, Sijistan, and Second Khorasan.
Al-Rabi’ ibn Ziyad crossed the Oxus River with an army of Arabs, and he took the war spoils and distributed them among his warriors. He won victory over the Turks and defeated Ratbil, king of Sijistan, who was known for breaking covenants and rebelling against Arab rule. He regained the areas controlled by Ratbil. The Banu Al-Harith bin Ka'b were the most respected people of Iraq during the reign of Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan, and they were famous for their honesty and competence, so the ruling of Islamic Al-Amsar was assigned to them. Among the most famous of them was Al-Rabi' bin Ziyad Al-Harithi, who ruled over Bahrain, Sijistan, and Khorasan. Al-Rabi bin Ziyad Al-Harithi is one of the prominent princes and governors who contributed to the development of the intellectual and scientific movement in the Islamic East and played an important role in spreading Islam and teaching people the principles of Islamic law.

Structural and Semantic Analysis of the Poem "Mustafa" by the Poet Abdullah Al-Barduni
Abstract
This study aims to uncover the relationship between the structural and semantic aspects in the poem "Mustafa" by the poet Abdullah Al-Barduni. It does so by examining the connection between the structural elements and rhythmic phenomena on one hand, and the meaning on the other hand. Al-Barduni focuses mainly on the internal structures, considering them as more closely related to the meaning than the rhyme, which he believes is often static and does not carry much meaning in most cases. The research consists of three axes. The first deals with the concept of rhythm in Arab heritage, understood from a modern point of view
The second axis is the external rhythm represented by (quantitative rhythm, the kinetics of the rhythm, and the handling of the axis The third is the internal rhythm, and the focus is on the vocal rhythm represented by the vowels and consonants derivational rhythm, repetition).
The research found that the meaning is closely linked to the rhythm, and that the direct use of the verse poem is based on The old form is no longer able to promote a new content, a criticism that is not able to argue.

Effectiveness of Machine Translation in Rendering Yemeni Culture-Specific Items into English: Sana'ani Dialect as a Case-in-Point
Abstract
Undoubtedly, in any given society cultural elements are manifested in all aspects of life. In this globalized age, efforts have been exerted in translating cultural elements. However, since each culture has its own linguistic peculiarities and social aspects, it has become a complicated issue in the field of MT. Despite the recent technological developments, MT still lacks the ability to produce adequate translation in terms of author-based accuracy and reader-oriented cultural acceptability. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of MT in rendering Yemeni culture-specific items into English by comparing the translation outcomes of three MT programs (Google Translate, Yandex Translate and Bing Translator) to find out which program can produce the closest translation to the source text. Moreover, the study aims to identify translation problems of Yemeni culture-specific items resulting from MT. To achieve these aims, the researchers followed a descriptive qualitative method within a comparative framework. The study sample includes 14 Yemeni culture-specific items in their contexts taken from the book Social Issues in Popular Yemeni Culture by Abdu Al Rahman Mutahar and inserted into the three MT systems. The study concluded that MT lacks the ability to translate Yemeni culture-specific items adequately. The three programs failed to render most of the selected sample adequately. Google and Yandex failed to translate 13 cultural items whereas Bing made 12 errors in translating the same cultural items. The study results also showed that MT faced challenges in translating Yemeni culture-specific items, resulting in lexical, semantic and pragmatic problems.
