Realistic Persuasion in the Speeches of Hassan Nasrallah and Abdulmalik al-Houthi: A Comparative Analytical Study
This study aims to shed light on the art of realistic persuasion (al-iqnāʿ al-wāqiʿī) in the speeches of Al-Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Al-Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, where the discourse intertwines with the lived reality. Together, they form an artistic tableau of influential words that touch hearts and minds. This is achieved through the analysis of specific selected examples from their speeches, revealing how the two Sayyeds employed realistic, persuasive methods, such as irrefutable facts, inspirational stories, and logical reasoning (al-taʿlīl al-manṭiqī), which significantly contributed to making their speeches more impactful and persuasive, based on perelman's Argumentation Theory.
