Abstract
the current research aimed to identify the basic linguistic skills necessary for university students at Sana’a University, and to try to solve the problem of their linguistic weakness. In order to achieve this goal, the researcher followed the following procedures: Preparing a list to determine the skills Linguistics for students at Sana’a University, through: tracking previous studies, research, and specialized writings related to the field of research. Coming up with a final list of the linguistic skills necessary for university students. This list included (5) axes, namely: listening skill, the number of paragraphs reached (12), speaking skill, The number of paragraphs was (5), the speaking skill, the number of paragraphs was (4), the reading skill, the number of paragraphs was (13), and the writing skill, the number of paragraphs was (11). The researcher aimed from this list benefiting researchers, experts and developers' curricula teaching Arabic language at Sana’a University by providing information and data about the basic language skills appropriate for university students, in order to deal with them in a scientific manner when preparing and developing curricula at Sana’a University.
