Information Technology and its Impact on Quality of Strategic Decisions: A Field Study at Banks in Yemen

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the impact of Information Technology on the Quality of Strategic Decisions at Banks in Yemen, which consisted of 10 banks, registered in the banking activity in Yemen based on the reports of the Central bank for the year 2015. The study used the descriptive and analytical approach. For the purpose of collecting data, a questionnaire was designed for the study sample, which consisted of all employees in the higher managements of the bank’s leadership, the study sample included (385) questionnaires distributed to banks as a simple random sample, (310) valid forms were retrieved for analysis. After collecting data from them, many statistical methods were used to analyze the data and test the study hypotheses, the formative model and the reflective model were also used in building the study model, and partial least squares modeling was used to test the hierarchical model with (Smart PLS v.3.2.9) program, and the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS v.23).


The study reached that there is a high level of Information Technology and Quality of Strategic Decisions at Banks in Yemen. The results of the study also showed that there is a statistically significant of Information Technology at Quality of Strategic Decisions. The study recommended the development of clear future plans that enable Yemeni banks to benefit from information Technology in the Quality of Strategic Decisions and to face the problems that may result from them.
