Effect of Guided Project-Based Learning Activities on achievement of mathematics students in Statistics at the Faculty of Education - University of Sana’a

Abstract

     The current study aimed to investigating the effect of a guided project based learning activities on mathematics students' achievement in Statistics at the Faculty of Education - Sana'a University and to investigating the effect of the project on students' performance according to their previous achievement level (high, medium, low). To achieve the objective of the study, students of the second level of mathematics were selected in the Faculty of Education _ Sana'a University as simple, They were (30) male and female students. To collect  data, an achievement test was designed and applied to the study simple. The results showed a statistically significant difference between the average results of the study sample members and the hypothetical average (18.91) in favor of the study sample students. The results also showed a statistically significant difference between the students’ achievement according to their previous achievement in favor of High level students. Therefore, the study recommends the importance of using guide project base learning activities in teaching statistics to increase academic achievement.
