The role of the authorities responsible for cybercrime in Yemen in educating the public about the dangers of cybercrime

Abstract
The study aimed to reveal the reality of cybercrime in Yemen and to know the role of the authorities responsible for cybercrime in Yemen in educating the public about the dangers of cybercrime. Descriptive method، where in the first stage، quantitative data was collected using a questionnaire that was applied to a random sample of 400 Internet users in the capital، Sana'a، then qualitative data was collected using the focus groups tool that explained and separated the quantitative results، and the qualitative data collection was extended in this study to include On the in-depth interview tool with managers and officials of media and public relations departments in the entities responsible for cybercrime.
The study found a high rate of daily use of the Internet by the respondents، and that (47%) of the study sample audience had been exposed to at least one type of cybercrime. The study concluded that the media and public relations departments of the authorities responsible for cybercrime in Yemen failed to raise awareness and educate the public about the dangers of cybercrime.
