Evaluating the effectiveness of the teaching performance of faculty members in developing the skills of accounting students in Yemeni universities - an exploratory study

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of teaching methods in development the skills of accounting students in Yemeni universities from the viewpoint of students.  In order to achieve the study objectives, the descriptive analytical method was used and questionnaire which consisted of (3) fields was prepared to collect data from study sample which consisted of (386) students. The study employed the SPSS for statistical analysis using statistical methods including frequencies, percentages of samples characteristics, means, standard deviation.  In addition, the independent samples t- test was utilized to test the differences of means between the variable of gender and university. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was used to test the reliability which was (0.91). The results revealed that the mean score of evaluation was in medium. The study recommended paying attention of evaluation of a teaching method constantly and conducting intensive training courses and workshops for universities accounting teachers.
