Abstract
The current study aimed to identify the effect of using the McCarthy (4mat) model on mathematics achievement among second-year secondary school students. To achieve the objectives of the study، the researcher used the quasi-experimental method. The study sample consisted of (64) second-year secondary school students in Al-Aqsa Modern Schools. - In the capital city secretariat - where the sample was divided into two groups، The first group was an experimental group (32 students) taught using the McCarthy model (format)، and the second group was a control group (32 students) taught in the traditional method. They were selected using the purposive method after ensuring that the two groups were equal. They were taught topics about the unit of trigonometric ratios.
An achievement scale (test) consisting of (28) multiple-choice items was also constructed، and the scale was applied post-hoc to the two groups. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences in the effectiveness of the McCarthy model (4mat) in achievement among the study sample، at the level of significance. (0.01) in favor of the experimental group.
Based on the results of the study، the researcher recommended several recommendations and proposals addressed to the Ministry of Education، the Ministry of Higher Education، teachers، and researchers regarding the importance of the McCarthy model (4mat)، its application in schools and universities، and conducting further studies and research based on the McCarthy model (4mat).
