Main Article Content
Abstract
The study aims at identifying the effectiveness of a proposed program based on The Next Generation Science Standards for developing the scientific and engineering practices for chemistry students at the Faculty of Education –Sana'a University. The researcher has adopted the semi-experimental method which is done by the one group design (before- after) with a sample consist of 27 students (male and female) chosen randomly from level three of chemistry students. For building the proposed program and answering the study's questions and hypotheses، the following tools are used: (a cognitive test for the scientific and engineering practices، a scale for the performance side for the scientific and engineering practices). After checking the validity and reliability of the study's tools and materials، applying them and analyzing the data statistically، the study reaches the following results:
- There are statistical differences between the students' Mediterranean degree in the before and after applications for the cognitive test that is related to the scientific and engineering practices، the students' performance scale for the scientific and engineering practices related to the scientific and engineering practices for the sake of the after application and with a significant influence In the light of results، the study provides a number of recommendations and suggestions which include، most importantly، developing a preparatory program of science teacher in the light The Next Generation Science Standards for developing the scientific and engineering practices for students at the teacher preparatory program.
