The effectiveness of a program based on reciprocal teaching strategy in developing literary appreciation skills among secondary school students in the Republic of Yemen

Abstract

The objective of research is to identify the effectiveness of a program based on the strategy of reciprocal teaching in developing literary taste skills among high school students in the Republic of Yemen.


To achieve this objective، the research was marked according to the descriptive approach and the semi experimental approach، due to its suitability for the nature of this research. The program based on the strategy of reciprocal teaching was prepared in developing literary taste skills among female high school students in the Republic of Yemen، and the design of an achievement test to measure its effectiveness.


The research sample consisted of: (120) students from the second year of secondary school students (scientific) in the capital، Sana’a. They were distributed evenly from two secondary schools in the district of Shaoub in the Capital، two parts to two groups: the first is control and the experimental consisting of (60) students who were taught with the reciprocal teaching strategy according to the program.


In light of these results، the research found the following results:


A- The presence of statistically significant differences at the statistical significance level (0.05) between the average degrees of the experimental group and the control in the post-test of literary taste skills among second-grade secondary students from the secondary education stage due to the variable of the strategy (reciprocal teaching).


B- The presence of statistically significant differences at the statistical significance level (0.05) between the average degrees of the experimental group and the control in the pre and post tests for the skills of literary taste among second-grade secondary students from the secondary education stage and in favor of the experimental group.


- The presence of statistically significant differences at the statistical significance level (0.05) between the average degrees of the experimental group and the control in the post-test to develop literary taste skills among second-grade secondary students from the secondary education stage at the level of (understanding، application، analysis، installation and evaluation).
