Abstract

The study aimed to determine the impact of environmental management systems (EMS) - including environmental policy، planning، implementation، checking، and corrective action، and management review - on sustainable development in cement factories in Yemen. Additionally، the study aimed to identify the level of EMS implementation in these factories. A descriptive-analytical approach was adopted. The study population consisted of 1392 administrative employees from five cement factories. A stratified random sampling technique was used to select a sample of 305 administrative employees، of which 292 questionnaires were retrieved and 281 were considered valid for analysis. The results revealed that the level of EMS implementation in Yemeni cement factories was relatively high. Moreover، the study found that the level of contribution of cement factories in Yemen to sustainable development was also relatively high. The results also indicated a positive correlation between EMS and sustainable development، and a statistically significant impact of EMS on sustainable development
