Attitudes toward mental illness among university students In light of the repercussions of the war in Yemen

Abstract

   The research aims to identify the nature of the tendency toward mental illness among university students in light of the repercussions of the war in Yemen. The researchers adopted the measure of the tendency toward mental illness prepared by (Umm Hani، et al.، 2024)، and the research sample consisted of (401) male and female students، who were chosen. Randomly from Yemeni universities (government/private)، the results of the research showed that the sample members of university students had positive attitudes towards mental illness to a high degree. The results also showed that there were no differences in the attitude of university students towards mental illness according to the variable of gender and university، and there were also differences. In the direction of university students towards mental illness according to the specialization variable، in favor of psychology students in a positive direction with a high degree. In light of the results، the researchers presented a number of relevant recommendations.
