Argumentation discourse for national identity issues in digital journalism Yemeni in Sanaa and Aden An ethnographic analytical study

Abstract

The study focuses on the argumentative discourse on issues of national identity in the Yemeni government digital journalism in Sanaa and Aden.

The study aimed to reveal the arguments used by the Yemeni government digital journalism in Sanaa and Aden through opinion articles in their treatment of comprehensive national identity issues.

The study used the media survey method, both descriptive and analytical, and the ethnographic content analysis method. The study also used the argumentative analysis form to analyze the comprehensive Yemeni national identity discourse in the two newspapers, Al-Thawra Net - Sanaa, and Al-Thawra Net - Aden. The study found that the issue of national unity came in first place with a percentage of 28.4% of the total national identity issues that Al-Thawra Net newspaper - Sanaa focused on, followed by the issue of the Yemeni revolution and the republican system with a percentage of 26.8%. Also, the issue of the Yemeni revolution and the republican system came in first place with a percentage 28.6% of the total national identity issues that Al-Thawra Net newspaper - Aden focused on, followed by the issue of national pride at 26%. The citation argument came in first place among the arguments employed by Al-Thawra Net - Sanaa newspaper in its treatment of national identity issues, with a percentage of 27%, while the comparison argument came in first place among the arguments employed by Al-Thawra Net - Aden newspaper in its treatment of national identity issues, with a percentage of 33%.
