The effectiveness of a program based on (STEM) in developing pedagogical knowledge of the content of physics among student teachers at Faculty of Education - Sana'a

Abstract

The study aimed to know the effectiveness of a program based on (STEM) in developing pedagogical knowledge of the content of physics among student teachers at Faculty of Education - Sana'a. To achieve the aim of the study, the researcher used two approaches: descriptive and semi-experimental, along with  training  program designed according to  (STEM) and testing pedagogical knowledge of the content of physics. The study sample consisted of (22) female students from the Physics Department (fourth level) in the academic year of (2022-2023). One experimental group was represented, and the results of the study revealed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the mean scores of female teachers in the pre and post applications of the pedagogical knowledge testing of physics content in favor of the post application. The results of the study revealed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance( 0.05) between the mean scores of female teachers in the two post and sequential applications to test pedagogical knowledge with the content of physics. The researcher recommended the inclusion of the (STEM) preface  in the  university studying curriculums throughout definitional and  according to programs based on STEM to develop their pedagogical knowledge.
