Abstract

The study relied on the media survey method, through a questionnaire form that was distributed to (69) male and female journalists from the Yemeni community, who were chosen using the available sample method. The study was based on the theories of media richness and dependence on the media.

The study reached several conclusions, the most important of which are:

- Al Jazeera Net ranked first as the Arabic news website followed by Yemeni journalists, while Al Arabiya.net and Sky News Arabia ranked last.

-The results showed that the extent to which the Yemeni journalists surveyed relied on Arab news websites and their social media platforms to follow news content was moderate (to some extent).

-As for the evaluation of the richness of the Arab news websites by the researchers, the results showed that the (language) index came in first place, followed by the (ease of access to content) index in second place, while the (multiple symbols) index came in third place.

- Regarding the evaluation of the richness of social media platforms by the respondents, the study showed that the (depth of content) indicator came in first place, followed by the (language) indicator in second place, and then the (content relevance) indicator in third place.
