Abstract
The research aims to introduce the author of the manuscript، define the manuscript، and contribute to making the manuscript a simple، accessible and useful book that can be easily accessed.
This research was limited to a chapter of the manuscript entitled: "Backbiting، mistrust، improvement and related matters". The nature of this research required it to be divided into an introduction، two topics، a conclusion and an index. The researcher used the scientific methods followed in verification including the descriptive، historical، and comparative methods. The researcher has concluded a number of results، the most important of which are:
- Imam al-Shoqaifi was a great scholar. He was the Imam of the Zaydis in the Holy Mosque. He used to call for Imam Muhammad bin al-Mutahhar. He was a jurist and mujtahid.
- The manuscript contains a large amount of scientific material. It is considered a large scientific encyclopedia that includes plentiful knowledge and arts.
- Imam al- Shoqaifi did not disclose the sources of his manuscript (Supporting the Brothers and Purifying the Limbs from Filth). However، by studying the manuscript، the majority of the sources from which he quoted were revealed.
- Imam al-Shoqaifi followed the methodology of Imam al-Samarkandi in his book "Tanbih al-Ghafilin" (A Warning to Neglectors) in dividing the chapters of the manuscript. However، he explained them on the principles of the relatives of the best prophets (Ahl al-Bayt)، not on the principles of the author of "Tanbih al-Ghafilin"، namely، preordainment، postponement and analogy.
- Backbiting is a dangerous disease. There are many evidences in the Quran and Sunnah about it. Its danger lies in the fact that it is related to the right of others. Its punishment in the hereafter is severe، and it requires repentance and asking Allah for forgiveness if it is not possible to seek forgiveness from the one who was backbitten. Despite that، backbiting is permissible in situations that Sharia has indicated such as complaining، identifying، warning، displaying immorality، asking for fatwa and seeking help in removing evil.
