Abstract

The study aimed to identify the requirements for establishing institutional digital repositories for free access in Yemeni universities, by identifying the requirements (policy and legal legislation - organizational and administrative - technical and technical - financing and costs - office support - marketing - evaluation and evaluation) to create institutional digital repositories for free access in Yemeni universities . The study relied on the descriptive survey method by applying the questionnaire to an intentional sample of (160) individuals, including (108) individuals from the academic leaders, and (52) individuals from the administrative leaders working in (Sana’a University – Aden University – Taiz University – Hadhramout University). - Ibb University - Amran University - University of Science and Technology Sana'a - Andalus University - Al-Razi University - Al-Hikma University. In light of this, the study reached the agreement of the study sample members that the requirements for establishing institutional digital repositories for free access in Yemeni universities were at a (very high) degree, with a percentage of (87%), and with a mean of (4.35) and a standard deviation of (0.53), and the third field occurred: Technical and technical requirements ranked first with a percentage of (90%), average (4.51) and standard deviation (0.60). As for the seventh field: assessment and evaluation requirements, it ranked last with an arithmetic mean (4.18) and a standard deviation of (0.75), and a percentage (84%). ).
