Psychological and Social Effects of not Using Social Media Networks A Survey Study During the Period of Internet Outage

Abstract

This study aimed to measure the psychological and social effects resulting from not using social media networks during periods of internet outage, using the public survey method and the questionnaire tool on a sample of (216) individuals from social media users, and reached a number of results, the most important of which are:



  • The degree of occurrence of psychological effects (positive) resulting from the respondents not using social media networks during the period of internet outage was (medium), and the degree of occurrence of psychological effects (negative) was (low), and the degree of occurrence of both social effects (positive and negative) was (low).

  • There is a difference in the degree of occurrence of psychological effects (positive) resulting from the respondents not using social media networks during the period of internet outage, due to the difference in the degree of their use of these networks / the age group of the respondents / the educational level of the respondents / the monthly income level of the respondents.

  • There is a difference in the degree of occurrence of psychological (negative) effects resulting from the respondents not using social networking sites during the Internet outage, due to the difference in (rate / degree / intensity) of their use of these networks / type of respondents / educational level of the respondents / monthly income level of the respondents.

  • There is a difference in the degree of occurrence of social (positive) effects resulting from the respondents not using social networking sites during the Internet outage, due to the difference in the degree of their use of these networks / monthly income level of the respondents.

  • There is a difference in the degree of occurrence of social (negative) effects resulting from the respondents not using social networking sites during the Internet outage, due to the difference in the degree of their use of these networks / age group of the respondents / monthly income level of the respondents.
