The role of scientific research in sustainable development: from the point of view of researchers in scientific and research centers in Sana'a

Abstract

The study aimed to know the reality of scientific research and sustainable development, and to show the differences that are statistically significant for the role of scientific research in sustainable development from the point of view of researchers in the scientific and research centers in Sana’a.The study used the descriptive analytical approach, and relying on the data collection tools represented by the questionnaire as a main tool, and the study community consisted of scientific and research centers in Sana'a, where the reached (23) centers, and the questionnaire was distributed to a non-random sample (purpose) amounting to (160) researchers, and the study came out with a number of results, the most important of which are: The reality of scientific research, from the point of view of researchers in the centers, was of a medium degree, with an arithmetic mean of (3.32) and a relative weight of 66%, and that the reality of sustainable development had a large degree, with an arithmetic mean of (3.52) and a relative weight of 70%. It has been shown that there is a direct relationship between the areas of scientific research (goals, planning, partnerships and marketing, support and spending) and (sustainable development). Therefore, the hypothesis was accepted that there is no statistically significant effect of the role of scientific research in sustainable development.
