From Words Lost Between Two Generations: A Semantic Study of the Dialects of Ibb Governorate as a Case in Point

Abstract

This research aims to study the abandoned words between two generations in the dialects of Ibb Governorate, using the descriptive analytical approach. The research is divided into an introduction that clarifies the reasons for the research, its objectives, its problem, its importance and its methodology. It also includes three chapters. The first chapter deals with the abandoned words between classical Arabic and Yemeni dialects. The second chapter deals with the abandoned words in classical Arabic, and the third chapter deals with the abandoned words in non-classical Arabic The types of abandoned words in the dialects studied are: abandoned in pronunciation, abandoned in meaning, abandoned in both pronunciation and meaning. The forms of abandoned words are: abandoned from eloquent to eloquent, abandoned from eloquent to non-eloquent, abandoned from non-eloquent to eloquent, and abandoned from non-eloquent to non-eloquent. Most of the voiced words were non-eloquent, and most of the new usage of voiced words is eloquent.
