The role of participatory leadership in improving institutional performance: an applied study on the communications sector in Yemen

Abstract

  The study aimed to know the role of the role of participatory leadership (Participation in decision making, delegation of authority, planning, human relations) in improving institutional performance in the telecommunications sector in Yemen. The study followed the descriptive analytical approach, and the study population was determined as (404) employees in leadership and supervisory positions in three companies in the telecommunications sector in Yemen, and (217) questionnaires were retrieved. As there were (11) questionnaires missing (206) questionnaires were analyzed using (SPSS) program, version 24. The study found that there is a somewhat high level of availability of participatory leadership in the telecommunications sector in Yemen. The study also found that there is a somewhat high level of improving institutional performance in the telecommunications sector in Yemen. The results of the study also showed that there is a statistically significant role for participatory leadership in improving institutional performance.
