Cyberbullying and the Strategies of Coping with It among Yemeni Adolescent Girls in Sana'a Capital Municipality

Abstract

The current research aims to identify the level of exposure of adolescent girls in sana'a capital municipality to cyberbullying, in addition to identifying their coping , Strategies, as well as identifying the differences in coping strategies according to the variables (age-academic level), The researcher used the descriptive approach, the sample of the research consisted (500) adolescent girls who were selected by stratified random sampling the researcher used the cyber bullying for victim scale and scale of coping strategies prepared by her .The results of the research showed that, the level of adolescent girls' exposure to cyberbullying was lower than the average, and that adolescent girls, used three strategies of coping, first, technological coping, second effective coping, and then ineffective coping, also, the results showed that there were no statistically significant differences in coping strategies according to the variables (age-academic level) , the researcher recommends holding seminars to raise awareness of adolescent girls and educate them on how to protect themselves from cyberbullying and educate them on how to cope with it in an effective way.
