Obstacles to Achieving Effectiveness in the Social Work Field Training Program: An Analytical Study of the Views of Social Workers and Students in the Capital Secretariat (Sana'a)

This study aimed to identify the barriers to achieving effectiveness in the field training program in social work from the perspective of social workers and students in the Capital Municipality of Sana'a. The study adopted the descriptive-analytical approach and administered a questionnaire to a sample of 136 individuals, including 66 fourth-level students from the Department of Social Work at Sana'a University and 70 social workers. The results showed that the most prominent barriers were: scarcity of specialized institutions, lack of supporting tools and technologies, weak field visits by academic supervisors, and the distance between students' residences and training institutions. The results also revealed variation in the severity of the barriers, with institution-related barriers being the most severe. The study recommended improving the infrastructure for field training, qualifying supervisors, and expanding the base of training institutions.
