The role of business incubators in enhancing the sustainability of entrepreneurial startups operating in the capital city of Sana'a, Yemen.
This study aimed to investigate the role of business incubators in enhancing the continuity of entrepreneurial startups operating within the Capital Secretariat. The research adopted a quantitative methodology, employing a questionnaire as the primary data collection instrument. A census approach was applied to encompass all incubated entrepreneurial startups (N = 111) under the umbrella of five operational business incubators within the Capital Secretariat during the study period.
Results demonstrated that business incubators exert a statistically significant role (α = 0.05) in enhancing business continuity. Furthermore, findings indicated that the organizational variables of entrepreneurial startups do not moderate the direct effect of business incubators on business continuity enhancement.
The study recommends restructuring and developing Yemeni incubator services by leveraging successful international experiences. This transformation should transcend the current real estate-centric role toward strategic partnership with incubated ventures through the full activation of incubation services-thereby elevating the incubators' role to become decisive in fostering business continuity.
