Psychosocial Support for Children Affected by Armed Conflict: A Cornerstone of Child Protection and Sustainable Community Development
Psychosocial support for children affected by conflicts constitutes a fundamental pillar in safeguarding childhood and ensuring sustainable development within societies. This research takes as its starting point the Yemeni context, where a protracted war has generated complex psychological and social consequences across all segments of the population, including children. These consequences range from behavioral disorders and chronic trauma to the erosion of family and community bonds. The study aims to analyze the conceptual and theoretical framework of psychosocial support, to review its dimensions, approaches, and sources, and to shed light on the structural and practical challenges that hinder its application in Yemen. The research employs an analytical theoretical methodology, drawing upon relevant literature, field studies, and both international and local reports. This approach provides a deeper understanding of the interactive relationship between psychological and social factors within conflict-affected environments.
