Proactive leadership practices among academic leaders at Sana'a University

The study aimed to identify the reality of practicing transformational leadership in academic leadership at Sana'a University from the perspective of faculty members. A descriptive analytical approach was adopted, and the study sample consisted of 273 academic leaders from the university, selected randomly. A questionnaire was used as the data collection tool, and the data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS).


The results revealed that academic leadership at Sana'a University demonstrates a high level of transformational leadership. Additionally, statistically significant differences were found at the 0.05 level in the practice of transformational leadership attributed to the gender variable in favor of males, and to the academic rank variable in favor of assistant professors.


The study recommended the need to promote transformational leadership practices in academic institutions due to their role in fostering an environment that encourages creativity and excellence, enhances academic performance, and contributes to the development of positive organizational behavior.
