Academic Challenges Faced by Students with Visual Impairments in Yemeni Universities: A Field Study in the Capital Secretariat as a Model

The aim of this research is to identify the educational challenges faced by students with visual impairments in government and private universities in Sana'a city, and to reveal the reality of those challenges. The descriptive approach was used, and a questionnaire consisting of 27 items was designed to identify the challenges and reveal their reality. A simple random sample of 107 male and female students from government and private universities was selected. The research found the following effects: a significant weakness in the academic services provided to students with visual impairments, which contributed to the existence of challenges that stand in their way. There were also no statistically significant differences attributed to gender (male/female), degree of disability (severe/moderate), and type of university (government/private) in the level of educational challenges faced by students with visual impairments in government universities in Sana'a
