"The Knowledge Areas of Project Management and Their Relationship with the Quality of Construction Projects" A Field Study in the Construction Sector of the Yemeni Economic Corporation
The study aimed to analyze the relationship between the knowledge areas of construction projects according to the (PMBOK) framework, with its dimensions: (Project Integration Management, Project Schedule Management, Project Cost Management, Project Resource Management, and Project Procurement Management), and the quality of construction projects (USAID) with its dimensions: (Relevance, Efficiency, Effectiveness, Impact, and Sustainability) in the construction sector of the Yemeni Economic Corporation. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach and used a comprehensive survey method, targeting a sample of 73 employees.
The study found a strong positive and statistically significant relationship between the knowledge areas and project quality, with Project Resource Management and Project Integration Management having the most significant impact.
The study recommended adopting (PMBOK) standards as a mandatory system for project management, enhancing training and capacity building in project design, implementation, and management, and increasing awareness of quality management through training courses and workshops. It also emphasized implementing a quality system based on the five quality standards as a measurement tool to ensure efficiency, sustainability, and continuous improvement of construction projects.
