Abstract

This study aims to identify the stereotypes that have been constructed around the writings of Professor Abdullah Hussein Al-Bar. The goal is to confirm, interpret, and challenge these stereotypes, and to explore alternative representations that both reflect and are represented by Al-Bar's work. The study is based immanent approach as well as the outcomes of his critical work, with the aim of uncovering the power and cultural dimensions that have helped stereotype his writings and the direction of his critical engagement, or uncovering what his writings implications that influenced his public and private spheres. To achieve all of that, the study used some of the analytical procedures of cultural studies that have addressed the phenomenon of bias. The findings of this study reveal that the stereotypes imposed on Al-Bar's writings are to broke down such stereotypes and revealing cultural dimensions that demonstrate his interest in society, in communicating with it, and in developing and promoting it at various levels.
