The Impact of Enhancing Developmental Skills for People with Disabilities and Its Impact on Development in Yemen (Capital City)

The study aimed to highlight the importance of enhancing developmental skills among persons with disabilities and its importance in achieving development. People with disabilities constitute an integral part of society, and empowering them and developing their skills represent an investment in community development. The study employed the descriptive analytical statistical method, which is suitable for this type of field research that requires conducting several statistical tests and measurements to determine the degree of influence and correlation among variables. Data and information were collected through field research applied to a sample of 310 individuals with disabilities.

The study concluded that there are strengths and a positive impact in enhancing developmental skills among people with disabilities; however, this impact has not reached the desired level due to significant gaps hindering development. These include limited budgets, insufficient free training and rehabilitation support, lack of job opportunities and developmental projects, as well as shortcomings in addressing their needs. Training and financial support are considered key strengths that contribute to improving performance.
